On May 23, 2018, at the headquarters of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), Vietnam Electricity in collaboration with CTC Global Company (USA) and Vietnam Technical Development Company Limited (VTD) held organized a national seminar to “Share experiences of using aluminum composite core wire for electrical projects”.
Participating in the seminar, in addition to the speakers from CTC Global, VTD Company, there were also speakers from many countries around the world (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Korea …) from many different units and fields. PLN, TNB, ADB, Taihan,…).
Especially, Transmission Company 1, representing units under EVN that has used ACCC wires, had a presentation to share experiences in selecting, organizing procurement, construction, operation management, … for the first ACCC wire project in Vietnam.
At the seminar, some speakers from TNB (Malaysian National Electricity Corporation) and AFRIMA (Malaysian consulting company) provided another approach, a new application of ACCC wire, which is used for the new line. TNB and AFRIMA have successfully implemented ACCC wiring for 275 KV lines in Malaysia and 400 KV in Kenya.
In general, with outstanding advantages, ACCC wire has been widely used for constructions for the purpose of renovating and increasing the load capacity of existing lines. Hopefully in the near future, we will also keep up with the world trend, applying ACCC wire to new transmission lines as well as lines to improve load capacity and reduce losses throughout the system.
